This policy explains what Winckler for State House (“the campaign,” “we”) does with information collected through cindywinckler.com. We keep it short and we keep it plain.
We only collect what you choose to give us. If you fill in the form on this site, we receive the name, email address, phone number, mailing address and message you enter, along with the date and your IP address. If you don’t fill in the form, we don’t collect any of that.
Like nearly every website, our web host keeps standard server logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested, and times. These are generated automatically by the hosting provider and are used to keep the site running and secure.
This site does not run advertising trackers, and we do not use cookies to follow you around the internet. The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads; that is Google’s standard behavior for font delivery.
We use what you send us to reply to you, to arrange a yard sign or volunteer shift, and to keep you posted on the campaign. That’s it.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Campaigns sometimes exchange supporter lists with allied organizations; this campaign does not.
If you give us your email address or phone number, you may hear from the campaign. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. If you receive texts, reply STOP to end them and HELP for help; message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies.
Donations are processed by ActBlue, not by this website. We never see or store your card number. ActBlue’s handling of your payment information is governed by ActBlue’s own privacy policy.
Iowa law requires campaigns to report the name, address, occupation and employer of contributors above a threshold amount to the Iowa Ethics and Campaign Disclosure Board. Those reports are public records. Nothing in this policy changes what the law requires us to disclose.
Form submissions are stored with our web host and are readable by campaign staff and volunteers who need them to do their jobs. We share information outside the campaign only when the law requires it.
This site is meant for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.
You can ask us what we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to info@cindywinckler.com and we will take care of it.
If this policy changes we will post the new version here and update the date at the top.
