Working together for an affordable and accessible Iowa — and she is not finished.

Free community listening session
Sen. Cindy Winckler — Iowa Senate District 49 — wants to hear what matters to you. Join her for an evening of listening, alongside the full Scott County Democratic ticket.
Free and open to the public — people of all political parties, or none, are welcome.
Where she stands
An affordable and accessible Iowa — where seeing a doctor and keeping a roof overhead are not things a family has to choose between.
Reinvesting in quality education for our students. A career in Iowa classrooms first, then a quarter century on Education and Appropriations.
Assuring that our water is safe and free from cancer-causing contaminants. What comes out of the tap should never be a health risk.
Meet Cindy
Her father ran the snack bar at the Scott County Courthouse, under an agreement between the county and the disabled veterans organization. Her mother was a long-time deputy city clerk and a city alderman.
Cindy graduated from West High, taught family and consumer science in Davis County, Pleasant Valley, Calamus and Davenport, and retired as a Quality Learning Consultant with the Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency. She was named to Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers in 2000.
She and her late husband Joe were married fifty years. They have two children and six grandchildren.
In the district
Senate District 49 covers central and southwest Davenport, the city of Buffalo, and Buffalo Township, running along the Mississippi — the neighborhoods Cindy has represented, in one chamber or the other, since 2001.
